The Great Credit Repair Saga - Part 1

So we're trying to buy a house... And we're trying to get our credit reports.

Aauuuuuuuuuuuuugggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh!

So far, the entire process has been:

1. An exercise in futility.
2. A hair pulling, teeth gnashing, head pounding on desk nightmare.

It's nearly impossible, if you fuck it up once, to ever, ever get logged back in, it would seem. If you checked your credit report, say, 4 years ago, but haven't checked it since, you're in trouble if you don't remember the login details.

Changing them is a simple matter - all you need to do is:

1. Call them.
2. Wait on hold for 30 minutes or more.
3. While you're waiting on hold, listen, over and over to the same ad, every 30 seconds or so.
4. Finally get a person.
5. Have them quiz you about which email address you had, oh, say, way back in 2003. In an age of throwaway spam-trap emails, this is no trivial thing.
6. Have them refuse to do anything because you can't remember said obscure piece of info.
7. Because they can't verify you, you must then fax them a copy of your driver's license, an email address, a phone number and a social security number.
8. Wait 3-5 business days for them to process this information.
9. In theory, they will email you the new login information.

So far, nothing has happened, 7 business days later.
